I don't buy lottery because it's a very bad gamble. Even with a very large carryover, the expected value is diluted down so much with huge new money coming into the pool.

However it's a social phenomenon and conversation topic among friends and family, so I bought a bunch tickets as gift to co-workers and my parents.
