Fun with Macro Lenses 微距攝影
« on: 26 April 2009, 22:59:59 »
In the flower show early this year, I got the chance to play with my friend's Nikon 105mm/2.8 Macro, and it was fun. After thinking about it for a few weeks, I dicided to get my own macro lenses to take close up pictures. I bought the Sony 100mm/2.8 Macro few days ago.

The first subjects were some random stuff in the office, but the result were not too good because of the lack of tripod.

The first real study subject was this tiny flower. For comparision I photo the flower with pot together with my tea cup. The tea cup is just under 3 inch in diameter, about 20cc in volume.

This picture was taken on 23-Apr-09 when I just got my macro lenses. The colour is a bit too warm as it was taken in the evening with normal household light. The flower "bud" was about 1cm long.

Another pic taken two days later on 25-Apr-09 during day time. It was very hard to focus on the white flower petals. Companre to my friend's Nikon 105mm Macro lenses, mine is not very good - it hunts back and forth trying to focus. The focuing motion is slower and noisy. But I do not have much choice with the Minolta/Sony A-mount. :(

1/100 Gundam Strike Rouge Clear Color Version

I never watched the Gundam series so I have no idea if this is a good guy or a bad guy. This was an impluse purchase at Sogo, purely because of the clear color. I spent one night assembly the kits and took it to the office to photo with my marco lens.

My friend couldn't resist. I left for a few minutes and this happened.
