Quick Short Trip to Singapore
« on: 10 June 2012, 02:10:00 »
Last week I went to Singapore for a short trip, I was a first timer to there.  I lived like a Singaporean because I stayed in my sister's home, experiencing what they are seeing and doing.

Singapore - before I got there it seems to me that it's a place fell far behind HK.  But in fact this was terribly wrong and it surpassed HK for a great extent.  From the perspective of living/working environment, environmental protection, and quality of people, it looked HK should learn from them.

It also surprised me that they liked to compare HK and Singapore (maybe they knew I came from HK).  And they liked to mock at our HK Govt. that we're so stupid that we don't control our immigration policy. (Well, of course Singapore can control their immigration policy!). It's not we dont want, we can't.

I heard from many people that there are not very interesting place for visiting in Singapore.  OK, now I am a tourist, so grab the camera and start shooting.

Sometimes you look at Singapore and wonder if that's the result of a good mix of western governing principles & traditional Chinese "parental" style rules. Over the long Chinese history, whenever there is an authoritative 明君, there will be long period of prosperity and development. The Lee father & son in Singapore has been taking this role in the last 50 years???

It's true.

But also it's partly because HK stays whatever it was for 15 yrs. Sad. :(

Although it looks good in terms of economy, Singapore is still a boring city which is not suitable for human.  I can never remember anything from my visits to Singapore except their Chilli Crab and Hawker centre.  Sentosa sucks.

I somewhat agree that Sentosa if not very exciting. But then the last time I visited was almost 10 years ago. Now they have the casino & Universal Studio (but I don't really care about any of these.)
