One day just to finish the structural stuff, like raising the screens, fix the sensors, wiring, etc...

By around 7pm, we started the software installation on s brand new machine running Win7-64, did not work. Then WinXP-64, did not work. Then I dug out an old WinXP-32, and the software works properly. By then, it's too late to start calibration and tuning. It was about 10pm.

So the installation works will continue tomorrow...

Yes somewhat done.

Meaning you can play a round or practice. But there are still some bits and pieces not finished. E.g.

- the computer is only temporary, because the new PC needs to downgrade to 32-bit first.
- some of the covering is not done, so if you mis-hit to the side of the screen, the ball may bounce back right at you
- the video recording setup is not done
- the projected image is too small. need some tuning.

I have left instructions in the office. If you want to try, just call Emily.

Some pictures of the installation process.

First the sensor/projector rack built by our contractor in HK.

Philip from Skytyan (aboutGolf distributor) mounting the mesh behind the hitting screen.

It took at long time to install the software. We wasted about 3 hours because of the OS. We have a new machine, with Win7 64-bit. But the aboutGolf software only works with 32-bit Win XP. (Have not tried 32-bit Win7.)

Don't forget this is not a mass market software.

The equipment rack.

The piece in the middle is the LED lighting. The two black boxes on the side are the ball sensors. I can see while playing that the sensors take maybe 50 pictures during the split second of hitting, then about 15 to 25 frames would be used to determine the ball flight characteristics.

The system detects my hitting characters very well... that means all my slices and fades are show.  ???
