It's long been in the ads imagination, but it seems it's really there. My friend mailed me this type of display and see this link here on youtube, I don't know the inner working of this soft-lcd thing, but no matter what, the Hogwarts type newspaper (as seen in Harry Potter movie series) is one-step closer.

I'm just wondering how many months we may see it on our mobile phone.

What do you think is the most logical & useful application?

If used as advertisement billboard with strange angle, like in train stations or in trade shows, then the application maybe too limited to bring down the cost substantially.

AM-OLED stands for Active Matrix  - Organic LED

People want bigger display while they want their mobile phone as small as possible.  They are contradicting to each other until we found a display that is rollable.  This is why flexible displays become a hot topics.  However, OLED's lifetime is very sensitive to oxygen and moisture.  It is very different from LCD as it is self-emitting display device.
