Title: 雷爺珍藏
Post by: chin on 03 March 2011, 01:49:40
One of my friends is crazy about old stuff. A few months ago he found these from an excavated tomb in Guangdong.

These little tea/wine cups are very old perhaps dating back to Ming (1368-1644) or even Song (960-1279) dynasty, as I was told. These little pieces are old but "common" wares and not particularly high in artistic value. So my friend was able to keep them. He told me that the clothing dug out from the same tomb were to be kept by the museum as they are much more valuable in terms of whatever or however they value antiques.

Anyway I borrowed the stuff and took some pictures. I forgot to take measurements. The largest is perhaps 5cm in diameter, while the smallest maybe 3cm in diameter.

4th cup, this looks very much like the ones I saw in Sulawesi - also found in tombs buried with the owner.

5th cup. This one the 釉 in the surface came off a lot already. Bad workmanship?
