Third day, we went to another old capital of Japan, Nara (奈良). When people go to Nara, they usually only go to Nara Park. However, our first spot was the Nara Palace (平城宮跡). This is the palace of 平城時代. The palace is huge and the construction was imitating Changan (長安). This first picture is the first Taichi Palace (第一次太極殿), which is now the north most building and some picture for the square and the south most building 朱雀門. See, even the names of the buildings are quite chinese. This third picture is the middle gate, midway between Taichi Palace and 朱雀門
