very strong contrast by using shallow depth of focus???

These are closed up shot by macro lense, depth of view is usually very short. I used aperture of 5.6 or higher in order to keep the flower clear. I also try to shoot with little back lite and over exposed im order to have a better feel.

On the way to Taroko 太魯閣 near Hualian 花蓮, we have to drove through a long narrow seaside road. Both side of the road are cliffs - one side high up above us, and one side straight down to the sea.
The locals were really crazy - they would pass when they couldn't see more than 20 meters ahead!
