The Giant Panda center was very new - only open since Feb 2009. I am guessing that it was a diversification effort after the giant quake that rocked the Wuolong Panda research center. There are 10 giant pandas in this location.

Elephants.

The baby elephant in the 2nd pic was born two months ago on 25 Aug 2009. The two bigger elephants are both female.

By the time was came to this part of the zoo, it was almost closing time and we did not get the chance to see more.

Some of the exotic animals we saw in the "safari" part of the zoo. I don't remember all their names. Maybe look them up later.

The first one is 梅花鹿 that Santa Claus rides.

The last one is interesting - it's characteristic marks are the white circles on the butt and the lips.

When I first reviewed the photos, I thought this bird had been burned. But after seeing more bird of the same type, I figured that it's their unique appearance.
